International scientific and methodical seminar: "PhD studies in the United Kingdom. Opportunity and challenges. Experience exchange".
On February 28, as part of the "School of Mastery of PhD supervising", the Academic Department of Industrial Marketing of the Faculty of Management and Marketing held a meeting with Dr Eva Kipnis - Professor of Marketing at The University of Bradford and Emma Johnson, a final year PhD student at The University of Sheffield, United Kingdom.
The meeting was also attended by academic staff - supervisors of PhD students of the faculty, PhD students and master's program students who are considering the possibility of continuing their training in PhD programs.
Dr Kipnis spoke about the crucial aspects of the training of PhD students in the UK, the main approaches to cooperation between the supervisor and the student, and the key stages of the research. In her turn, Emma Johnson focused on the specifics of choosing the supervisor and the research topic and on the importance of preparing the research proposal.
Academics from Ukraine and the United Kingdom discussed the similarities and differences in the approaches to the PhD supervising and decided to continue communication at conferences and seminars.
